Zoe Café is owned and operated by Ron and Julee King. Ron and Julee are from Lewiston, Idaho in the northwestern region of the United States of America and they enjoy teaching English! for many years, Ron and Julee hosted numerous international university students in their home in America. They have grown to love Japan, the Japanese people and the culture of Japan.
Ron's formal education includes a Bachelors Degree in Social Work and Sociology, a Masters Degree in Guidance and Counseling and Secondary Education. Julee's Bachelors Degree is in Communications and Marketing. The Kings have both been teaching for many years. Since arriving in Japan, Ron and Julee have been teaching private and public English lessons, and tutoring individual students. They also teach English at several corporations. Julee has worked in the business sector for many years and is very knowledgeable with Business English.
Ron and Julee have traveled to over 15 countries as international speakers and teachers and were responsible for a homestay program for a number of years in the past, introducing Japanese students to America and American students to Japan.
The King Family
Ron and Julee met at university and were married in 1975. Their son Ryan was born in 1978 and their daughter Jasmine was born in 1982. Ryan and Jasmine often traveled internationally with their parents during their formative years. Ryan and his wife Jacque had their first child in January of 2012, which made Ron and Julee grandparents for the first time. Ron is an avid runner and cyclist and enjoys music, and drinking and collecting wine. For many years, Julee was an accomplished piano teacher and she enjoys cycling, movies and reading. The Kings moved to the Hamamatsu area in the spring of 2010.
